Winter Program

Reservations for individual and group lessons are necessary to schedule instructors. Payment in full is expected prior to the start of the lesson. Invoiced lessons will be paid in full within 15 days or be subject to an 8% finance charge. Cancellation of any lesson is required 24 hours prior to the scheduled starting time of the lesson or the full price of the lesson will be charged to the client or parent/guardian. No show clients for scheduled lessons will be charged the full price of the scheduled lesson. Walk-in clients will be considered if instructors are available.

Summer Program

Reservations are recommended as early as possible due to limited space. A deposit of $25.00 per person for an overnight trip, $100.00 per person for multi-day lake or river trips, and $250.00 per person for the Grand Canyon trip is required within 3 weeks of making your reservation to reserve your trip. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Payment in full is due 30 days prior to trip departure date. A service charge of $25.00 will be assessed for cancellation of any trip. Cancellations 30 days or more prior to trip departure date will be refunded fees paid minus deposit. Cancellations 29 to 14 days prior to trip departure date will be refunded 50% of fees paid minus deposit. Cancellations less than 14 days prior to trip departure will receive no refunds. Cancellations due to inclement weather will be refunded at no charge.

What will be provided by the CDA?

For winter programs, CDA provides all equipment, unless you bring your own, lift pass, and instruction.
For summer programs, CDA provides all boating gear and instruction, food and nonalcoholic beverages (for overnight or extended trips), tents, sleeping bags, foam sleeping pads, and one waterproof bag for your gear.

What will you provide?

For winter programs, you provide: transportation to and from Powderhorn Resort; warm winter attire: jacket, pants, and gloves; food and beverage (which can be purchased at Powderhorn Resort); and medication that you may require during the day.

For summer programs, you provide: transportation to and from the departure site, hotel reservations; if you plan to arrive early or leave late after completion of the trip; personal items; food and drink (for day floats that do not include a bar-b-que); gratuity for the boatmen, if you feel so inclined; sunscreen; any medication that you may require during the day; and a personal care assistant should you require help with feeding, transferring from chair to boat and visa versa, or toileting.

Event Starting Location

Winter programs take place at Powderhorn Ski Resort, 35 miles southeast of Grand Junction above the town of Mesa, Colorado.

Summer programs depart from various locations. One-day or overnight trips begin at the CDA Fruita Program Office or local Grand Junction spots. Extended trips may start at the CDA Fruita Program Office or other locations. We will provide information where and when to meet prior to each event.
